Carl Huntoon, PMHNP-BC
Carl Huntoon, PMHNP-BC graduated from Walden University with a Masters of Science in Nursing and is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. He has spent his life residing in Mid-Michigan and is looking forward to serving the community. Carl has been a nurse since 2007 and worked in many specialties including inpatient medical, surgical, home health care, long-term care and inpatient psychiatric care. He has observed the effect mental health can have on individuals, families and communities throughout his career prompting his desire to serve this population. Carl completed is clinical training at Cedar Creek Hospital, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, as well as Mid-Michigan Health Center-Gratiot inpatient psychiatric unit.
Carl joined FHPCC in November 2020 and looks forward to providing honest, open and high quality care to adult patients. Outside of the clinic Carl spends time with his family and friends enjoying time outdoors camping, hunting, golfing and riding his motorcycle.
Nanette Watson, DNP, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Watson is a lifelong resident of Gratiot County. She attended Michigan State University, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, in 1996. She became interested in mental health after graduation. She was employed at a local community mental health clinic as a registered nurse, for three years before continuing her master’s education in psychiatric and mental health nursing.
Dr. Watson has been an advanced practice psychiatric nurse since 2002. She obtained her masters in psychiatric nursing from Wayne State University in December 2001. Ms. Watson has experience in providing mental health treatment for adult patients in multiple settings including: inpatient mental health units, outpatient clinics, and nursing homes. She provides mental health treatment to patients 18 year-old and above.
In 2006, she was one of 22 nurse practitioners selected to attend the first Doctor of Nursing Practice program in Michigan, at Oakland University. Ms. Watson focused her doctorate education primarily on patients with Dementia of the Alzheimer’s type. She graduated with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in December 2007.
Dr. Watson is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners.
Marjorie Sattler, LMSW
Margie has been practicing in Alma since 1988. Margie’s clinical interests include working with individuals including, a special interest in adolescent, as well as couples and family. She has experience in helping with marriage/relationship and family therapy, anger management, impulse control issues, domestic violence, sexual assault, post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety disorders, grief and loss issues, behavioral and discipline problems with children and adolescents, adjustment issues, personality disorders and psycho-physiological disorders.
Margie is a clinical social worker and completed her master’s training at Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan.
Margie is a member of the National Association for Social Workers and the Academy of Certified Social Workers.
Karen McGee, LMSW
Karen has been practicing in Mt. Pleasant and Alma since 2014. Karen’s clinical interests include working with individuals, couples and families. As a generalist, experience has been in many areas, but major interests are substance abuse, anxiety, depression, anger management, grief and loss, adjustment issues, personality disorders and psycho-physiological disorders.
Karen is a clinical social worker and completed her master’s training at Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan.
Karen also is a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor through the Michigan Board for Addiction Professionals.
KATLIN GEHRINGER, LPC
Katlin is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been serving the community of Alma since 2017. She completed her internship working with patients in the Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization program and Inpatient Behavioral Health within MidMichigan Gratiot. She graduated with her Masters of Professional Counseling from Central Michigan University and continued to broaden her skill set within Inpatient Behavioral Health.
Experience includes working with patients to resolve issues related to depression, anxiety, anger, addiction, family issues, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, impulse control and crisis.
In her time outside of the clinic Katlin enjoys photography, traveling, and spending time outdoors with her family and dog.
Hillary Kolb, LMSW
Hillary graduated from the University of Michigan's school of Literature, Sciences and the Arts majoring in Psychology and Criminal Justice and the University of Michigan's School of Social Work with a degree in Clinical Social Work. Hillary specializes in the areas of trauma, death, grief and bereavement and is pursuing completion of MSU's Trauma Certification.
“Healing from traumatic experiences can be a long, difficult journey and I am in this work because I am driven to help individuals learn skills and strategies to help them improve their ability to cope with their lived experiences”. Hillary spends time reading on resilience and post-traumatic growth. Outside the office Hillary loves animals and spends time fostering animals, getting them vetted, spayed/neutered and ready for their forever homes.
Russell Scabbo, PhD
Dr. Scabbo has been practicing in Alma since 2000. Dr Scabbo’s clinical interests include individual, marriage/relationship and family therapy, anger management, impulse control issues, domestic violence, depression, anxiety disorders, grief and loss issues, behavioral and discipline problems with children and adolescents, adjustment issues, personality disorders and psycho-physiological disorders.
Dr. Scabbo is a clinical psychologist and completed his doctoral training at Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan.
Dr. Scabbo is a member of the American Psychological Association, American Academy of Forensic Evaluators and the National Board of Certified Rehabilitation Counselors. He is also certified as a marriage and Family therapist.
